The drivers in the D3 Sonata come from respected manufacturers such as Vifa and Seas, and we further employ a proprietary custom upper mid driver to complement the carbon fiber sub frequency driver. The Patented APL Bass System allows the D3 to cleanly reproduce even the lowest note of a Steinway concert grand Piano, at 27.5 Hz, no insignificant feat, especially from such a compact enclosure and miniscule footprint.
The Remarkable crossover uses the highly respected Auricaps and Vishay Resistors, the Erse Super Inductor, as well as high quality air coil inductors, and makes use of only 2 capacitors in the signal path.
The result of this focused component selection is clearly audible. You will hear highly detailed, clearly defined music from this superbly designed loudspeaker and its seamless, pure crossover. There are no Zobel networks or notch filters used to corrupt the purity of the incoming signal.
If your electronics are up to it, step up to the ultra pure Reference crossover option that will flesh out nuances in recordings unlike anything you've heard and afford you an unprecedented level of transparency and detail.
For the demanding listener, our Reference crossover employs some of the finest electronic components available from anywhere in the world, including Duelund Carbon Resistors, and a choice of the new Mundorf Silver Oil Gold Capacitors or the superb hand built Duelund Copper Foil Capacitors.
Reference inductors are fabricated using the excellent Solen Hepta Litz. wiring, made with a singular audiophile grade multi-strand and multi-gauge copper.
All NSR loudspeakers apply only point to point wiring, and we refuse to use circuit boards that rob current flow, ultimate dynamics, and add time distortions. We feel our Reference crossover bests crossovers from competing brands costing as much as $30,000 or more.
Hear for yourself what 30 years of experimentation, sound acoustical principal, and the patent pending Acoustic Projection Lens have come to yield in this sonic marvel. The D3 will work well in any average to large sized room. To ensure proper integration, a Fostex L Pad allows you to tailor the frequencies, if need be, without changing the purity of the source signal.
